After We Gazed at the Starry Sky summary:
Subaru Miyazawa, a graphic designer, has always had a passion for the stars and fantasizes about visiting Lake Tekapo in New Zealand to witness its stunning night sky. Nevertheless, his physical disability compels him to live vicariously through Tougo Amase's astrophotography work. Although Subaru reluctantly accepts his reality, a design opportunity from his dear friend Akari Tsurikane propels him towards the photographer he has always admired. As Subaru and Tougo meet and bond, Tougo is struck by Subaru's tenacity and ability to overcome challenges. One day, Tougo invites Subaru to join him on a stargazing trip he has planned in Okinawa. Despite his fear of becoming a burden and his growing affection for Tougo, Subaru initially declines the offer. Nevertheless, Tougo persuades him otherwise, reminding him that he has no reason to hold back. Once Subaru witnesses the splendor of the starry sky up close, his love for Tougo flourishes. However, Tougo's professional commitments take him all over the globe for projects, and their disparity in popularity makes it difficult for Subaru to catch up with him. Despite successfully surmounting several physical challenges, this barrier may prove insurmountable.
